Tom Recke

Tom Recke

The Tom Recke Team has been with Pillar To Post since 2005 and has inspected well over 7,500 properties throughout the Colorado front range. Our firm offers a complete line of residential and commercial building inspections (both health/safety and full Property Condition Reports), pre-listing inspections for sellers, 11 month warranty inspections for new builds, sewer scopes, invasive EIFS/ and stucco inspections, radon gas testing, water quality testing, indoor air quality/mold testing, lead paint testing, and asbestos testing.

As the franchise owner I strive to stay on top of the latest and greatest training, technology, and techniques to ensure you receive the best possible home inspection that money can buy. With no home inspector licensing in Colorado, professional affiliation and the proper insurance coverage is imperative to ensure your assets are protected. I am a member of ASHI (the American Society of Home Inspectors) and I am fully insured. I am also a member of the Denver Better Business Bureau, the Exterior Design Institute, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and the Aurora Association of Realtors.

Top notch customer service is what sets the Tom Recke Team apart from other local inspectors – I am always available to answer your questions before and after the inspection and if a roof is covered with snow I won’t charge you to come back and inspect it when the weather clears up. Outstanding customer service is just part of how we do things here – which is anything but standard this day-in-age! You have a LOT on your plate – you don’t need to worry about babysitting your home inspector. You want someone with impeccable attention to detail and integrity that will lay all of the cards on the table, you want the Tom Recke Team representing you in your real estate transaction!

My wife Tamara, a Fort Collins native, and I have been married since 2005 and are enjoying a very active life here in Colorado. We have three children, two of whom we adopted from Eastern Europe. The Recke family plays an active role in our church and we enjoy serving our community and others around the world on behalf of our faith. We have a wide range of interests from raising goats and chickens on our mini farm to archery and hiking. Any chance to enjoy the Colorado outdoors really!

I have held multiple security clearances and served honorably in both the US Navy (USS San Juan – SSN-751) on a 688(I) fast attack nuclear submarine and then once again in the US Army as an Infantryman (Charlie Company 3/172d Infantry (Mountain)) where I served a fourteen-month tour in Iraq. My experiences in the military have served to cultivate my integrity, attention to detail, fortitude and flexibility. In combat, each team needs to be brought together to complete the mission – my mission now is ensuring that you know everything about the home you are about to buy!

I look forward to earning your business and adding you to the long list of my very satisfied clients!

I have been with the Tom Recke Team at Pillar To Post since 2015. I have really enjoyed being a home inspector and have met a lot of great people along the way.

I earned my ACI (ASHI Certified Inspector) accreditation shortly after joining Tom’s team and have received multiple training and certifications from Pillar To Post and American Home Inspectors Institute (AHIT).

I have background in home improvement and own and manage multiple rental properties. Before becoming a professional home inspector, I spent more than 20 years in retail management which has served me well in my current occupation.

I have been married to my wife Laura for more than 20 years and we have two children, Tyler and Allie. In my spare time if I am not busy with raising our two children I like spending time outdoors with everything Colorado has to offer as well as doing home projects and improvements. My job has taught me that ongoing and preventative maintenance will go a long way in maintaining the value of a home and I am sure to relay that information to each and every client I work for. My motto is “Spend $50 dollars now or $5,000 later!”

I joined the Tom Recke Team in 2014 and quickly earned my ACI (ASHI Certified Inspector) accreditation. Since joining Tom’s Team, I have inspected well over 1,500 properties ranging from single bedroom condos to historic mansions in the Baker District.

At an early age, I was exposed to home remodeling, renovating, flipping and repair. I also lived and worked on the family farm through my teenage years dealing with everything from raising animals to working on farm equipment.

I am a graduate of Purdue University where I earned my bachelors in Industrial Illustration and was employed as a technical illustrator for 25 years, working for companies like American Motors/Jeep, Northrup Grumman, Ford Aerospace, AST Computer, McDonnell Douglas, Gateway Computer and Boeing, where I wrote and illustrated assembly instructions for military and commercial aircraft.

Much of that time was also spent flipping and rehabbing houses, turning some of the properties into rentals. With urging from family, I decided to take my love of houses and their various systems and make a career out of home inspection, which I plan on doing until retirement!
